Hana, Hawaii

Our friends, Rich & Michelle, just got married and are in Maui, Hawaii for their honeymoon. My wife and I went to Maui for our honeymoon, so I decided to look through our pics from Maui. I found this pic of a waterfall and I made it into a tilt shift miniature fake.
This is one of many waterfalls you see while driving The Road to Hana.
I never thought it would come to this, but I had to unfriend someone on Facebook yesterday. It’s not that this person is a bad person, but I just couldn’t handle the number of Facebook posts. On top of that, it was someone that I went to high school with and kinda knew but not really and I certainly don’t have any type of relationship with now. As I started to feel somewhat guilty about unfriending this person, I began to think about why I unfriended them. The reality is that they added unnessecary clutter to my life. This is symptomatic of what I need to do with my life and unclutter my house, my inbox, my garage, my head!
I want to thank the high school friend that I unfriended on Facebook. They opened my eyes to a bigger problem and one that I will be taking care of this weekend. It feels good to unclutter, liberating really. I am going to start by cleaning my home office. There is so much paperwork and crap that I either need to throw out or file. Once that’s done, I am going to go through the shed. There is quite a bit of stuff in there that are “keepsakes” that I really don’t need or want.
I am about halfway through the book, but “The Power of Less” by Leo Babauta is an extraordinary book about how to unclutter and live better with less. There are several blogs out there that also give pointers on how to unclutter, I subscribe to www.unclutterer.com.
I am excited about freeing myself from useless stuff.
To unfriend someone from Facebook, simply go to their profile page and scroll down. On the left hand side, you will see “remove from friends”.
Well, our world record attempt is finally upon us. We have been organizing and getting ready for several months now. I really wish someone else could have organized the event and we just showed up a played. Organizing something of this caliber is hard work! But its for a good cause and something I am honored to stand behind.
The real work begins after we break the record. We will need to edit video for multiple sources, get media clippings and sort through hundreds of photos to put together our submission packet to Guinness.
I am excited to get out there and play mini golf for 24 hours. It will be fun and painful all at the same time!
We have several media interviews on Saturday morning. We (Arch) will be on 850 KOA for a 5 minute interview at 7:20am on Saturday Jue13th as well be on 9News at 7:40am on Saturday for a 3 1/2 minute interview. I was interviewd by Kat Valentine King of the Denver Post last week and will appear in her column in Saturdays edition of The Denver Post. The Golden Transcript will be at the event as well as Channel 4 and Channel 7.
This is going to be a great event; its a great feeling to see the fruit of your labor!

Recently, I bought an SLR camera. I’m not sure why I did, but I am sure glad that I made that impulse purchase. The pictures taken on an SLR and so much better than a point and shoot camera. I soon realized that I didn’t know how to use this beautiful piece of equipment that I randomly purchased.
Luckily, I have a few friends who are very talented photographers and were willing to show me the ropes. We started slowly at first; what do all of the settings do, when to change the settings, what aperature means, what exposure means…..etc. But shortly after that, I was thrown into the fire (so to speak). I went on a night time shot of downtown Denver where I really learned the different settings and how different lenses made a building look so different. I was quite impressed with photogrpahy and enthused to learn more.
A friend/co-worker recently introduced me to HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. I am amazed at this technique; it is quite remarkable. Basically, you take several images (3-7) of one subject with different exposures and mash them into one image. The result is a photo that looks like a drawing. To me, its a form of art and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I think its fantastic!
I have just begun to dabble in this form of art and have taken a few test shots. The subjects are a few items in my house…..the fireplace looks great!

I should say that bad fitness information is everywhere. There are thousands of blogs, sites, forums etc of people pitching fitness products. These products include equipment, routines, supplments, apparel and anything else that can be classified as fitness related. When I firsted began to research fitness programs, I found it very difficult and time consuming to weed through all of the gimmicks and get real information. There are some legit sites out there, but it takes time and patience to find them. After a few months of researching, I would like to present to you the best site I have found to learn about fitness products.
First Page Fitness has a plethora of information, and it laid out to be easy to understand. One of the things I like about this site, is that it is a one-stop shop for fitness products. There are product reviews, articles about various fitness topics, a fitness directory (links to fitness sites) and even a fitness shop. You can purchase product directly from the site or they give you a link with a discount attached!
If you want up-to-date information, Firts Page Fitness is the place to go for Fitness Products.
