The Good
This workout is awesome. Complete body workout that will test your meddle. Each workout is between an hour to an hour and twenty minutes. For me, this is a perfect amount of time to exercise. I used to get unmotivated to go to the gym because of the time it took to workout (30 minutes to the gym, 1 hour to work out and 30 minutes home from the gym).
There are a ton of resources out there for P90X. People have posted videos on YouTube, blogs, reviews etc. If you don’t know how or why you should be doing something or need motivation from other people in the same boat, all you have to do is google “P90X”.
At first I thought that working out at home would not be conducive to my goals. I really like the gym atmosphere, it feels like I am getting it done. However, I really have enjoyed working out at home. I have all the proper equipment and it seems to be working.
The Bad
There is a substantial cost to entry for this program. The actual program is quite expensive, but you also need the proper equipment. Pull up bar, resistance bands, dumbbells, yoga mat, push up bars and a heart rate monitor. This can be a substantial investment if you were to buy everything. I suggest that you buy resistance bands and a yoga mat to begin with. If you like the program and think you will stick with it, then start buying the equipment a piece at a time .
While there is a lot of information out there, it seems that people’s blogs and vlogs always stop about week 7 or 8. Are people quitting the program or are they burnt out on updating their blogs or vlogs every day? I think that people are getting burnt out on updating every day. Its tough to go to work, workout and then update. This is why I am going to be updating after the completion of each week instead of everyday. Not only would I like to convey my success story (thinking positive), but I would also like to chronicle my journey.
Tony Horton. Some of the thing that comes out of this guys mouth is just stupid. His energy is motivational, but I just wish he would change the way he says things.
The Ugly
I am out of shape. While I can do all of the exercises, I can’t do them for the same amount of time that the video requests……yet. I hope to get there soon.
